Help Utah End Chronic Homelessness
Utah is poised to reach its goal, but we need your help. Ending chronic homelessness by 2014 will require an additional 1,800 housing units. Meanwhile, Utah’s ranks of homeless families are growing, exerting more pressure on our shelters and mainstream resources.
Ours is an ambitious goal, one within reach of a committed and caring community and one that will raise the quality of life for all Utahns.
There are many ways to participate:
Donate
The easiest and quickest is to donate to HousingWorks or a local homeless service provider a better use of your money than giving to panhandlers, many of whom aren’t actually homeless.
Volunteer
You can volunteer at a local charity. For a list of volunteer opportunities, dial 2-1-1. Become a HousingWorks employer and hire a homeless Utahn.
Attend a meeting
Following is a schedule of upcoming Utah Homeless Coordinating Committee meetings. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held from 2-4 p.m. in the East Conference Room at the Utah State Capitol.
